When should I schedule my Maternity Session?
Generally speaking the best time to be photographed is during 30-34 weeks of pregnancy.

What is the best age to photograph my newborn?
Newborns should ideally be photographed in their first 10 days of life. This will give us the best chance to get those sweet, sleepy, curly shots.

How does booking a Newborn Session work?
A $50 non-refundable deposit secures your due date. To ensure availability, as I only take a limited number of due dates per month, newborn sessions should be booked as early as in your 2nd trimester. How this works is, a spot is held in the month you are due, once the baby is born, I ask that you contact me as soon as possible so that we can set a firm date and time.

How long does a Newborn Session last?
Newborn Sessions are typically 3 hours long, allowing plenty of time for cuddles, feedings, and diaper changes.

Where are the photos taken?
Photos are taken in my professional home studio in Kelowna (Wilden area) or outdoors, weather permitting. Travel fees will be applied to all areas outside of Kelowna.

Can I take photos with my own camera during my session?
No, personal cameras or recording devices are not permitted during the session.

Can I select the images that I would like edited?
As a creative artist, I will select the images that best represent your session, and present them to you as your complete gallery.

What if I'm running late to my photo session?
Please call me to let me know if you are running late as soon as possible. Punctuality is important, as at times, sessions are booked back to back.

What if my child is sick?
A healthy child is a happy child. Please let me know as soon as possible if your child is sick so we can reschedule your session to another date. Since I work very closely with newborns, who are very susceptible to germs, I need to be extra diligent in protecting these precious little beings. Thank you for keeping my family healthy too! A new deposit is not required.

What if I need to reschedule my photo session?
As a courtesy to my clients, I ask that you please provide me with at least 48 hours prior notice of cancellation whenever possible. No penalty will be applied for the first reschedule.

When is payment due?
A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to secure your date, with the balance due at the time of session, or as outlined.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Payment can be made by cash, personal cheque, or email transfer. Please make cheques payable to Dominika Lightfoot. Email transfers should be made to info@capturedbydominikaphotography.ca. If paying by cheque or email transfer, the images will be held until funds clear. All sales are final.

How long will it take for my photos to be ready?
Approximately 3 weeks from the date of your session, to allow time for editing.

Where can I pick up my photos?
Images will be provided on a USB, which can be picked up from my home or mailed via Canada Post. When a package is purchased, each session will be provided via digital download (available for download for a period of 2 weeks), until the series has been completed, upon which time a USB of all the sessions will be provided.

Will you post a sneak peek of my session?
All sessions include a sneak peak on my Facebook and Instagram pages within 24-48 hours.

What if I don't want my photos posted on Facebook or the web?
I always respect my clients wishes, if you are not comfortable with me posting your images on Facebook, Instagram or the web, I won't, just let me know ahead of time.

Can I share my photos with people on Social Media (ie. Facebook)?
Of course you can! However, please note that all images are copyrighted to Captured by Dominika Photography, cropping, altering, or using the images for anything other than personal use is strictly prohibited. And please be kind and give photo credit to Captured by Dominika Photography.

Do you offer Gift Certificates?
